How to install an eSIM on Android

Android eSIM setup varies slightly by brand, but the flow is the same everywhere: add the profile from the QR code, make it your data SIM, switch roaming on. You'll need Wi-Fi and an unlocked eSIM-capable phone (Pixel 3+, Galaxy S20+, and most 2022+ flagships).
Google Pixel steps

Settings → Network & internet → SIMs
Tap 'Add SIM' → 'Download a SIM instead?' and scan the QR code from your order email.

Activate the downloaded SIM
After download, toggle the new SIM on. Set it as your mobile data SIM while keeping your main SIM active for calls.

Enable roaming on the eSIM
Tap the new SIM → turn on Roaming. Travel eSIMs connect via roaming partners, so this is required.
Samsung Galaxy steps

Settings → Connections → SIM manager
Tap 'Add eSIM' → 'Scan QR code' and point the camera at your code.

Choose what each SIM does
In SIM manager, set the eSIM for Mobile data and leave your home SIM for Calls/Texts.

Turn on Data Roaming
Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Data roaming → on (for the eSIM).
Troubleshooting
- No network at destination: Airplane Mode on/off, then Mobile networks → Network operators → pick a partner network manually.
- QR already used error: profiles install once — if you deleted it, contact support with your order reference.
- Can't find eSIM settings: some carrier-branded models hide eSIM support; check for a software update or confirm the model supports eSIM in your region.
- APN issues: most profiles auto-configure; if data stalls, check your order page for APN settings and enter them under Access Point Names.
